Ronnefeldt Tea Experience @ Hotel Equatorial Penang

Ronnefeldt Tea Experience @ Hotel Equatorial Penang

As a tea lover, I would love to share with you a fantastic tea brand that I have come cross lately (In fact I am now sipping the tea while writing this blog post). Let me share with you my new tea love called Ronnefeldt.

Ronnefeldt is a popular German tea brand and has been supplying teas to the finest hotels ever since 1823. In Malaysia, reputable hotels such as Hilton, The Majestic, JW Marriott etc, just to name a few, carry this premier tea brand, as well as some leading cafes in Kuala Lumpur.

I was delighted when Hotel Equatorial Penang invited me over for a tea cocktail night and guess what, they were using Ronnefeldt tea! As innovation is Ronnefeldt tradition, this time they came up with 4 types of new tea cocktails ideas.

This delightful tea cocktail night was held at Nadaba, which is located at the poolside of Hotel Equatorial. The relaxing ambience of the al fresco bar is an ideal spot for this beautiful event. Other than charming cocktail glasses and tea boxes were arranged nicely on the table, delectable finger food and dessert were also seen in a buffet style.

I was warmly welcomed by Hotel Equatorial's Assistant Marcom Manager, Gillian and the representatives of ExclusiviTea, Ms. Katherine and Mr. Jeremy. ExclusiviTea, which is the sole distributor of Ronnefeldt tea in Malaysia, was also the organiser of this amazing event.

Our welcome drink of the evening - Rooibos Punch

As I was mingling around and sipping their welcome drink, we were asked to gather around to witness the start of the event. Mr. Andreas Knussi, the General Manager of Hotel Equatorial and Ms. Stephanie Molders, the Director of Asia Pacific at J.T. Ronnefeldt KG kick-started the event with their welcoming and introductory speeches.

Shortly after, we were shown how the tea cocktails were made, with Ms. Katherine giving detailed explanation about the tea cocktail. Each tea cocktail is a concoction of distinctive flavour infused by the selected tea leaves.

I shall list them out one by one as follows:

Tea Cocktail #1: Earl Grey Mule

Mixture of Ronnefeldt Precious Earl Grey, vodka with fresh squeezed lime, orange juice and honey

The citrusy bergamot flavour of Earl Grey Tea makes this cocktail a sophisticated twist.

Tea Cocktail #2: Golden Prosecco

Mixture of Ronnefeldt Royal Afternoon, prosecco with lightly sweetened fresh lemon juice

I could taste strong hints of alcohol in this one. The floral taste of Ceylon Tea mixed with the sweet fruity flavour of prosecco, can you feel the love around?

Tea Cocktail #3: Gin Chai

Mixture of Ronnefeldt Masala Chai, gin, honey, lemon juice, simple syrup

This cocktail boasts a very strong South Asian twist with its Masala Chai aroma. The mixture of Masala Chai and Gin creates an extravagant taste.

Tea Cocktail #4: Darjeeling Tea Rum

Mixture of Ronnefeldt Splendid Spring Darjeeling, rum with lemon juice, orange juice, egg white and simple syrup

I kinda like this one. The sweet, fruity, mellow taste of Darjeeling pairs well with rum. The egg white added further fragrance to the cocktail.

All of us had a wonderful evening, listening to the live band while enjoying the lovely cocktails. As usual, I am always excited to catch up with my media friends!

If you would like to have a taste of these amazing tea cocktails, the Ronnefeldt tea cocktail menu is available daily until 30th September 2017 from 11am till 1am. Each tea cocktail is priced at MYR32 nett.

Don't fancy alcohol? No worries! Ronnefeldt loose tea pots are also selling at Nada Lama until 30th September 2017. You will get to try a range of teas that are available. GOOD NEWS is you enjoy 50% off on all loose tea pots until 20th July 2017! Ronnefeldt tea can also be purchased HERE.
