Lucky Bowl ~ Authentic Sabah-ian Pork Soup Noodles (Sang Yuk Mee) @ Lorong Selamat, Penang.
Lucky Bowl just recently opened its door to diners (less than 3 months old), introducing the popular Sabahian's pride - Sang Yuk Mee (pork soup noodles). The menu is very simple with only a few dish options. We sampled their signature (dry) sang yuk mee and my favourite spicy sour pork soup with rice. The latter dish has the option of yam rice, which I personally think would complement the spicy sour soup better. I opted for white rice as I tend to get stomach bloating easily and yam is listed as one of the food sources that causes bloating (unlucky me, meh).
The guys were hungry and asked for large portion of noodles and the portion indeed came huge! Both pork broth and spicy sour pork soup were tasty and delicious. If I were to nitpick, I would have preferred more variety of ingredients in the soup.
We also ordered a portion of 'fermented bean curd fried pork' to share but they missed our order. We understand there may be some hiccups for newly startup shops and hope things will improve overtime. But we know we will be back for a hearty meal like this.
